The National Office of Railways (ONCF) confirmed thursday that the future Moroccan TGV, the first high-speed line in Africa « Al Boraq » will start its service at the end of 2018.
The high-speed line will link the economic capital Casablanca and the Tangier seaport via the administrative capital Rabat in just over two hours (against almost five hours now).
According to the Director General of the National Office of Railways (ONCF), Rabia LAKHLEA, the tikets prices of the high speed train is reasonable to middle-class Moroccans who regularly travel from Tangier region to Rabat or Casablanca region. In general, prices for Al Boraq train tickets are between 79 and 364 Dhs!

By using the Al Boraq service, passengers will save enough time!
Between Tangier and Kenitra, you only have 50 minutes to get there instead of 3 hours and 15 minutes.
Between Tangier and Rabat, you only have one hour and 20 minutes to get there instead of 3 hours and 45 minutes.
Between Tangier and Casablanca, you only have 2 hours and 10 minutes to get there instead of 4 hours and 45 minutes.
The Al BORAQ high-speed train trip will be free during the three days preceding its commercial launch, in order to allow passengers to test this new trains.
